Some cookies are just classics, but classics that everyone puts their little spin on and makes their own. I love that about recipes and cooking for those we love. That’s why it’s fun to talk with people that bake and hear how the food they make has become traditions for their family. Someday I’d love to have a collection of perfected classics that turn out just how our family likes them every time–tried and true. That takes time and practice, hence it’s a year of cookies! This recipe for no-bakes that I’m sharing today, is just like that, a tried and true from a family friend sharing her favorite go-to and oft requested treat.
Janet’s No-Bake Cookies
1/4 c. margarine
4 tbs cocoa powder
1/2 c milk
2 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. crunchy peanut butter
3 c. quick oats
Melt margarine, add cocoa and blend. Add milk and sugar. Bring to a full-rolling boil over medium heat, let boil for EXACTLY one minute without stirring. Add vanilla, remove from heat. Add peanut butter and oats. Spoon cookies on wax paper, cool (or eat hot) and enjoy!!!
